It is time again for the Auckland Masters Rock Climbing Competition.

Purpose: Social event to celebrate rock climbing and bring climbers of different age groups and abilities together.  
Participants: Anybody who has a climbing harness, helmet and rock shoes or can borrow some.  
Programme: 

• Speed climb: Climb on each of two parallel lines. The winner is the fastest to finish both climbs (Long Side).
• Bouldering: Climb as many routes as possible and score the maximum number of points. The time limit is 2 hours. Route difficulties vary and so do the points you score. There are about 5–10 routes to try and the number of attempts is unlimited. A referee needs to be present to verify a climb. Some routes have a top belay and are belayed by a referee (Long Side).
• Barbeque and rewards ceremony (Long Side)

Format: There are four age groups and each has a subgroup for men and women. Winners are found for each subgroup. 

• Brats:   0–17 years old
• Kids:   18–39 years old
• Masters:   40–49 years old
• Grandmasters:   50–59 years old
• Old Bastards:   60+ years old

Entry fee: $5 per participant (all entry fees are used as a prize fund) 
Venue: Long Side of the Mt Eden quarry (Auckland Grammar School)
Date: Saturday 21st March. Starts at 10:30am.
Prizes: Great prizes to be won!  
This is a SOCIAL event for the whole family, so bring a picnic and your fans.
